Who is Silverflow?

At Silverflow, we’re redefining payments. As the world’s first cloud-native acquiring processor, we’re replacing decades-old infrastructure with a fast, scalable, global platform. Founded in 2019, we’re founder-led, venture-backed, and growing fast. With 80+ dynamic colleagues from 30 different cultures, we are on track to reach 120 people by 2027. Our platform empowers a diverse range of clients, from banks to ride sharing platforms, helping them streamline operations, enhance data insights, and deliver seamless, real-time payment experiences at scale.

What you'll do

The Data Engineer builds and operates Silverflow's data platform: the pipelines, datasets, and services that turn microservice event data into the reporting, analytics, and AI products the whole company relies on. In a regulated payments environment, this data underpins customer invoicing, transaction reconciliation, and fraud research, so accuracy, timeliness, and reliability matter as much as the features themselves.

This is a software-first role. You'll spend more time writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining code and infrastructure than doing data science. We're looking for someone with 1–3 years of experience, ideally from a software-heavy environment, who wants to own systems end-to-end with support from a senior team.

Key Responsibilities

Build & maintain the data platform:
  • Design, develop and maintain ETL pipelines.
  • Write well-tested, readable, production-ready code and participate in code reviews.
  • Deploy and maintain data infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Instrument data-quality and observability checks.
  • Support our AI tooling and automation platform - data agents, self-serve query access, and workflow automation.
  • Support engineering teams in selecting and implementing suitable technologies.
  • Support product and business teams with internal tooling and datasets.

Who you are

Must Have

  • 1–3 years of experience in a software engineering, data engineering, or similarly software-heavy role.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Python, TypeScript and/or Go (Rust/ Java / Scala also welcome).
  • Solid software fundamentals: testing, version control (git), debugging, and clean, maintainable code.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and a good grasp of data processing concepts (data quality, deep-diving to find root causes).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of APIs and system communication.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work with non-technical stakeholders and explain technical topics clearly.
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced, self-driven environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with a data processing framework (Spark/PySpark, Pandas, or similar).
  • Experience with columnar/analytical databases or data formats (Clickhouse, Iceberg/Parquet) or BI tooling (QuickSight/Superset/Looker).
  • Experience with non-relational data stores (MongoDB, or GraphQL etc).
  • Interest or experience in AI/ML tooling, LLM applications, or workflow automation.
  • Prior work in regulated industry (payments, financial services).
